COPYRIGHT, A PHOTOGRAPHERS RIGHT
A copyright notice is a short line of text that lets the public know that your work is protected by copyright law and is not to be copied by anyone. Even if the work has no copyright sign next to the name it is always best to check that the author allows the use, regardless.

Abuse of my copyright on any or all of my imagery worldwide will not be tollerated and will be followed through to court if required.
Imagery stolen off any of the following websites or any subsequent advertisments connected to these websites including Meta, X, U-tube or other variants will incure the following fees and fines.

The Basics:
Copyright is there to protect the owner, the author of such works from abuse so the creators of literary, dramatic, musical, artistic works, sound recordings, broadcasts, photography, films and typographical arrangement of published editions, rights to control the ways in which their material may be used.
Restricted acts that are applicable to me, the photographer
It is an offence to perform any of the following acts without the consent of the owner:
- Copy the work.
- Rent, lend or issue copies of the work to the public or in a public site, space or website or advert
FINES & FEES:
- The copyright infringement itself, £250.00/per entry or discoverance
- Payment for the use of the image/s itself x the number of days of abuse
- Compensation for any business lost due to the advertisement of my imagery as your business
- Any legal costs will be added through the county court plus our legal costs, as, if you lose you pay all costs
IMAGE USE FEES:
My normal fee rate for editorial or advertorial web usage is between £25.00 and £55.00 for a small image (500px wide and smaller) and this is a one of usage fee. To be clear, a 1-day license is very different to a 1-year license.
As an example, a small image used on a competitors website for over a year without an authorised usage agreement will incur the usual fee for the photo’s usage x the number of days of its abuse. Example: £15.00 x 365 days = £5,475.00
If the unauthorized usage or infringement is of an image the size of the back of a London bus and has been running for 2 months then the fines/fees will be so much greater.
My fee rate for an advert or image on the back of a London bus for a 2-month campaign that is unauthorised or a blatant infringement would cost the company around £175.00/day x 60 days = £10,500.00
Unauthorised usage or infringement is penalised at 3 times the usual fee for the photo’s usage x the number of days of its abuse.
Once an infringement of my copyright has been identified, wherever that might be we ask for this to be removed within 7 days. If this has not be actioned then we remind the perpetrator by e-mail giving then a final warning. Depending on the seriousness of the copyright violation the correspondence may end there with a warning only.
Anyone blatantly violating my copyright for a longer period of time (months, years) will be accountable to the full aspect of copyright law and the fines we stipulate above.
Any damage or loss of business will aslo be followed through by the way of compensation for any business lost due to the advertisement of my imagery/work as if we were acting as your business.
